The Story of My Friend Steve
My friend Steve is about 10 years older than me, which puts him in
his early 50's. He loves to run and has participated in many marathons and
triathlons. He is very fit and is a life-long fitness fan. I would always chide
him about implementing a weight training program to develop strength, but he was
a bit reluctant to do so. He felt his fitness and overall health was fine. "If
it isn't broke, don't fix it" he'd like to say.
His Awakening
In August of 2005, Steve and his wife were moving into their new
home. He asked me and a few other friends to lend him a hand and help him move
his belongings. What transpired that Saturday afternoon changed his life.
It was a rather warm day with the temperature in high 80's. He had
a ton of stuff we had to move and right from jump street he was in trouble. Most
of his furniture was old, solid, and heavy. I didn't mind and was eager to get
the job over with. But Steve hit the wall almost instantly. Because of his lack
of strength, his body was working extra hard to lift the loads. His breathing
was laborious, he began to strain, and he was sweating profusely. He literally
was breathing like a runaway freight train and needed to make frequent rest
stops. Finally I told him to just carry the light stuff....boxes and what have
you. Because of his lack of strength and actual fitness, he was making things
rougher for all of us.
Steve Learned His Lesson
A few days after the move, Steve phoned me to once again say
thanks and to also ask me for another favor. He wanted me to design a
weightlifting program and a general all-around routine to get him stronger and
fitter. The light came on for him. You see, sometimes you can talk till you're
blue in the face, but people won't get it until the "shit hits the fan." This is
what happened to him. It wasn't until he was really tested so to speak, that he
found out he should have listened to me years before. Well, it's never too late.
Nearly a Year Later and Now a New Man
It's been nearly a year since that episode at the time of this
writing. Steve still runs his marathons, but more importantly, Steve is now much
stronger, healthier and faster then he's ever been.
He's literally transformed his life and he couldn't be happier. He now knows
beyond a doubt, the effectiveness of proper weight training. He uses the Worth
The Weight DVD as well as a personalized program I designed for him. He may be
in his fifties but he's in the best shape of his life.
Worth the Weight Was Worth the Wait
Steve's mantra has changed. He no longer likes to say, "If it
isn't broke, don't fix it." His catch phrase now is, "Worth the Weight was worth
the wait." So my question to you is can you wait any longer to make the
positive changes your life needs? Let's get started right now in making you a
new man. It's just a click of a button away.
Thanks very much,
Tony Cecchine
